QUINCY, IL -- The Quincy Park District wants to know what you think.

That's why Wednesday night's regular board meeting will feature a public hearing for the proposed 2009 budget.

Last month the property tax levy was reduced 2.4%...a 20 year low.

The new budget proposes 10.2 million dollars in expenditures and 8.5 million dollars in revenue.

To help cover an expected short fall of state funding, the district also plans to use 1.7 million dollars of its own money.

The proposed budget also includes about 3 million dollars in expected grant funding.

That money will be used on projects like Boots Bush Park and completing the walking trails at Cedar Creek Linear Park.

The board will not vote to adopt the budget until January.
