QUINCY IL --

A Quincy Senior High student was killed Friday morning after she was hit by a truck.

The victim is 17-year-old Allison Scott.  She was a junior at QHS, and a member of the art club and choir.

Classmates say she enjoyed playing video games and writing poems.

The accident happened around 6:30 a.m. on North 24th Street just north of Locust near Turner Road.

The Quincy Police Department says a pickup truck was heading north on 24th Street when it hit Scott, who was crossing 24th Street to wait for a school bus.

She was taken to Blessing Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 7:24 a.m.

Grief counselors were on hand all day Friday at Quincy High to help students get through this difficult time.
