One man sent to the hospital for injuries

Augusta, IL-- A 36-year-old Augusta, Illinois man was arrested for home invasion, aggravated battery, and criminal damage to property.
Officers say Brian Kelly kicked in the back door of an Augusta residence armed with a knife, and attacked a 31-year-old male on Friday. When police arrived on scene, Kelly had already left. He was later found at his home, and taken into custody.
An investigation is ongoing. Hancock County Sheriff John Jefferson says he expects more charges to be filed.
The 31-year-old male who was attacked was treated and released from the hospital.
