Barry, Ill.- In a time of need, so many area families need help to make ends meet.

The Barry Food Pantry in Pike County, Illinois is a place many families can rely on.  Saturday the Pike County Beef Association delivered 600 pounds of beef to the pantry.  The Barry food pantry has seen an increase in families served in this tough economy.

Just a few weeks ago it ran out of beef, and had to give out hotdogs to families.  Barry food pantry representatives say this food couldn't come at a better time.  But they say this food won't last very long.  The pantry helps about 300 families, so this beef may last only a month.

Donations are always welcome. If you'd like to help, contact Anita Wright at ( 217) 335-2948 or Lillian Bowen at (217) 335-2838.
