(Charleston, Ia.)  Fire struck a Lee County Iowa restaurant shortly after 8:00 PM Sunday, July 5th.

The Prairie House in Charleston, just south of Donnellson was located near the intersection of 255th street and Old Highway 218.

The building sustained very significant damage.

Most of the roof had caved in and windows were busted out.

Demolition crews were cleaning out the inside of the building around noon Monday, July 6th.

The owners were talking with the fire marshall when KHQA was there Monday, but a cause has not yet been determined.

The owners told KHQA they did not know if they were going to rebuild yet and said they were not in mind set right to think about that now.
