PALMYRA, MO -- A former Marion County deputy charged with shooting a man at his rural Taylor Missouri home almost two year ago, will be back in court on August 25th for his preliminary hearing.
Larry Uhlmeyer first went on trial last month, but the Marion County prosecutor asked that the charges be dismissed during jury selection when there was concern Uhlmeyer couldn't get a fair trial.
Charges were re-filed a day after the original case was dismissed.
Uhlmeyer is charged with one count of first degree assault and three counts of second degree assault.
IThe case stems from a shooting at his house, when he confronted a man who had been sleeping in his garage.
