PALMYRA, Missouri-    Palmyra's newest hotspot is a coffee shop with a whole lot more than coffee to offer.

In just a few short months its getting a lot of business from people of all ages.

KHQA's Stephen Johnson found out what all the fuss is about in this  It's Your Business report

The Century Press Coffee Shop at 112 East Olive Street in Palmyra is one busy place.

In just a few short months it has become "THE" place for people to get their morning cup of coffee and their favorite pastry.

Owner J.D. Harner and his wife Anne decided that the community needed a gather place like the coffee shop and decided to open one up themselves.

J.D.Harner says, " There really was nothing like this in town for people to sit around, talk, debate do anything so we decided to give it a try."

A quick glance at the menu or around the counter will get any sweet lovers tastebuds watering.

And that includes their most popular item....homemade cheesecake.

Harner says," We've had gentlemen that are salesmen, they go all around the country, they come in have our cheesecake and say this is the best cheesecake from here to New York, City."

But you get more than coffee and pastries at Century Press.

J.D. is an avid reader and decided to sell and trade books at the shop.

He says," I can look up books for people, order them and get them in, trade for them.  Since we sell and trade books our stocks always rotating."

And if that wasn't enough he's also added WI-FI service which has been a big draw for the kids in the community.

J.D. Harner says,"A lot of kids come in  with their laptops, sit on the couch and next thing you know all you see is screens opening and passing back and forth information and stuff, looking up sites together, so it's fun."

But the number one thing that Century Press Coffee Shop prides itself on is its customer service.

" It's almost like CHEERS around here. We know what they drink, what they have, what size they get. So they pretty much walk in the door and we have their cup sitting there waiting."

J.D. says that he has big plans for the future including adding more items to the menu and moving from his current location to a much larger one by next year.
