Canton, MO -- A Canton, Missouri family is homeless tonight after a fire destroyed their house.
Fire crews were called to this home at 701 Washington Street shortly after three this afternoon.
The Canton Fire Department told us the fire started from something left unattended cooking on the stove.
Most of the damage is in the back of the house, but fire officials say there is heavy smoke and fire damage throughout the home.
No was in the house at the time of the fire.
