(Donnellson, Ia.) Iowa State University Extension Director for Lee County Bob Dodds now has a new title.
As part of ISU's new regional restructuring plan, Dodds is the Regional Extension Education Director for District 20.
That includes Lee, Henry, Des Moines and Louisa Counties.
The university went to a regional plan to offset the state budget cuts.
Dodds says this will be like starting over for him and will be a challenge getting to know people in the other counties.
Even though the boundaries have changed, Dodds says the goal remains the same.
"I think what we're working on now is still local programs," said Dodds, "local needs and meeting those needs. I think we will work on more of a regional basis, many of these programs will be more efficient if it's on a regional level."
Dodds says the major needs that need to be met for Southeast Iowa are food and nutrition, economic development, agriculture and Natural Resources and alternative energy
