QUINCY, ILL. -- It was a beautiful day to fly the friendly skies.

Cape Air started its services in Quincy Sunday  morning. KHQA was told the first flight heading for St. Louis was full, and one passenger was turned away. A TSA worker told us that was the first full flight Quincy Regional Airport has seen in a few years.

Cape Air decided to provide air service to Quincy, because it's part of the Essential Air Service or E-A-S.  That means it services areas that are geographically challenged.  The airline also will have a code share agreement with American Airlines.

Ticket prices on all routes are $49 one way, and $98 round trip.  You can go to www.capeair.com for flight times.
