(Quincy, Ill.)  We've also received some questions about the recent hiring of a Quincy school board member's wife at Quincy Senior High, and concerns expressed after her hiring over potential nepotism.

The position in question was a kitchen assistant at QHS.

We went to Superintendent Lonny Lemon to get some answers for this KHQA FactFinder Report.

He told us the School District does not have any policies regarding nepotism.

The school board has the final decision on all hirings.

Lemon told us the board member was up front, and made sure everybody knew it was his wife who had applied for the job.

And the board member did not take part in voting concerning her hiring.

"I can understand where there would be concern, I don't know if you want to call it nepotism, but our goal is we're still going to try and hire the best employee for every position we have available.  No matter who it is," said QPS Superintendent Lonny Lemon.

Lemon told us personnel issues are discussed in executive session.

If there were any questions about the hiring, they should have been asked during that session, and they would have been answered.
