More than $20,000 is heading into the community thanks to the Community Foundation of the Quincy Area.
12 organizations will split the money and use it in a variety of ways.
The money comes from the Katherine Broemmel Endowment for the Arts and the Paul and Anne Gardner Memorial Fund.
"For some of the grants, people may look at it and say that's not exciting, they got a copy machine or something. Those of us who work in not for profit, know it takes a lot of keep the organization going. It's nice having those wonderful, committed volunteers and that service you provide. You also have to do some nitty gritty things. We are very excited to help those organizations," says Jill Arnold Blickhan.
Since 1999, The Community Foundation has handed out more than one point one million dollars, and Jill Arnold Blickhan says the board is already working on plans for next year.
