QUINCY, ILL. -- No doubt you've heard of social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook.
Most people use them to keep in contact with friends and family, but there's another way to use Twitter, and that's to save you money.
Twitter me this, twitter me that, social networking can save you a lot of cash. A recent article in Real Simple magazine showcased some ways to keep some coin in your pocket will surfing the internet. One way was a list of websites you can bookmark and use to do everything from shrink your cell phone bill to get discounts at restaurants. Here's a list of the sites from Real Simple magazine:
www.billshrink.com - Audit your cell phone bill to find a cheaper plan that fits your calling habits.
www.cardtrak.com - Compare credit cards to find the best one for your needs.
www.ecoupons.com - Swap unwanted grocery coupons for ones you'll use.

Another tip from Real Simple piqued my interest, using Twitter to save money. My wife and I set up a Twitter account and we just follow certain people who save us money. Stores like Home Depot and K-Mart have accounts you can follow. Then there are independent ones who search for and find deals and then let everyone else know about it. You can even find deals on travel. We've only been doing this for about a week, and already we've gotten a deal that saved us 50 percent off of a clothing order and we also got a 30 percent off coupon for a popular retail store. So, if you've wondered about Twitter, but never thought there'd be a good use for you, maybe this will get you to make that leap into social networking.
Just remember, if you do this and don't want to be bothered by anything else Twitter offers, don't accept new followers.
If you'd like to follow some, or all, of the deal accounts, log onto www.twitter.com and look search for:
