BOWLING GREEN MO -- We told you earlier this summer that New London decided to ban pit bulls. Now Bowling Green is considering ways to deal with vicious dogs. The city says there have been a number of attacks in recent years by such canines.
"I think what we can do is encourage encourage people to consider the type of dog they're bringing into the home. And certainly, cities like ours have been forced to forge ahead with policy options with animals like pit bulls and rotweillers that seem to account for so many of the serious results of a bite or mame," said Bowling Green city administrator JD Kehrman.
The Bowling Green city council has asked for a ban of vicious dogs. Other options may include making owners carry liability insurance, muzzling or restraining the dogs when in public, or keeping them in a fenced in yard.
