Rev.Smith wants to help those in need
New Start Rescue Mission reopened its doors today in Quincy. The center was closed last year due to safety violations. Now the center is newly painted and refurnished, ready to help all those in need. New Start was founded by Chuck Smith and his wife to give men help changing their lives. Smith wants to help men find work and help guide them to what they want to do in life.
"I just really feel like if we don't try to help people at the right time to help them, it's kind of like shooting them in the other foot. Their shooting themselves in the foot, why not try to show them a better way, " says Smith.
Smith says there's still some remodeling to do, including the second floor. He hopes to have that work done by the end of this year.
