MT. PLEASANT, IA -- Barack Obama wasn't the only presidential hopeful in Iowa today. Former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani visited Iowa Wesleyan College for his run at the Republican nomination. Giuliani said if elected, he would like to send more troops into Afghanistan and win the war on terror, or as he called it, "The Terrorist War On Us." Giuliani is in favor of cutting all taxes because he feels by keeping more money in your pocket, the economy will grow. He said he cleaned up New York during his term as mayor and that makes him the best choice.
"Times Square was in terrible condition for twenty years, 125th Street in Harlem was in bad condition for a long time, go there now, much different situation, so I guess what I'd like to say is, if I can do for a country what I did for New York City, we would really be moving in a very positive, optimistic direction, "said Giuliani.
Giuliani also wants the federal government to create incentives for primary and secondary education. He said people should be able to choose the school for their child.
