JACKSONVILLE, ILL. -- There's money in the Illinois state budget to keep the Developmental Center in Jacksonville open, but it'll likely still close it's doors.

The State Journal Register says Governor Pat Quinn still stands by his decision to move people with developmental disabilities from state institutions to community-based settings.

State Representative Jim Watson fought hard to get money in the budget for the J.D.C., but knowing the governor's feelings toward state institutions, Watson says having the money may at least delay the closing.
