Two arrested

QUINCY, ILL -- Two Quincy residents are behind bars in connection with an active meth lab bust.

Adams County Sheriffʼs deputies served a state narcotics warrant at 419 Valley View drive at around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday.

Inside, deputies found 33-year-old Shawn Schroder cooking meth, and they arrested him.

The overpowering toxic fumes made it necessary for deputies to break out the windows of the home to ventilate the area.

Thatʼs when the Quincy Fire Department and the Police Meth Response Team responded to help shut down the lab.

Later in the evening, deputies arrested another resident of the home, 32-year-old Mandi Higgins.

Both are being held in the Adams County Jail, facing charges of the manufacture and possession of a controlled substance.

Theyʼll face the judge Thursday.
