Should be ready for Fall 09 semester

(Hannibal, Mo.)  Hannibal Lagrange College is expecting to have 600 students living on campus by the 2011 school year.  Because of this the school is building two new dormitory's.  A groundbreaking ceremony was held Wednesday, March 25th for what will be Fletcher Hall.  The two buildings will hold a total of 96 students and will be entirely male dorms.  The project will cost $3 million dollars and is being funded through a lease agreement.  KHQA spoke with HLG President Woodrow Burt about what these new dorms will bring to campus.

"This is going to give us state of the art facilities that will allow us to continue to grow our residential population," said Burt. "We've had a wonderful problem in that we've run out of residential space. So this is going to allow us to expand and continue to grow and provide state of the art facilities for our students."

The residence hall will be named Fletcher Hall in honor of Louis and Marie Fletcher who are parents of long-time HLG trustee Jack Fletcher.  It's expected to be ready for the classes this fall.
