BOWLING GREEN, Mo. (AP) - A northeast Missouri man accused of killing his wife 17 years ago is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing on July 28th.

Douglas Howery Sr. is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Betty Ann Howery, who was 44 when she disappeared from the couple's rural Annada farm in February 1992.

The preliminary hearing date for the 57 year old suspect was set during a hearing on Monday

The investigation was renewed when human bones were found in a septic tank in October and DNA tests showed the remains were Betty Ann Howery.
