The Flood of 2008 opened many people's eyes.

Not many thought we'd have two major floods within 15 years of each other.

Some levee districts in Pike and Lincoln County Missouri weren't aware of the Comprehensive Plan that's been in the works for more than 15 years.

But there's hope to change that.

There's a meeting tomorrow in Pike County to talk about how some of the levee districts in those counties can become more involved.

"There are a couple of districts in their current location of the levee, would not be able to improve. Some could make minor adjustments and get some improvements. There may be some interest in flood easements," says Mike Klingner.

The meeting is open to the public, and will be a chance to voice concerns.

One of the authors of the Comprehensive Plan will be at the meeting.

It's at the Pike County Missouri Fairgrounds from 2:00 to 4:00 pm Wednesday, September 30th.
