PAYSON, IL -- Two cases of the H1N1 virus have been diagnosed at Payson Seymour High School.

You might recall an earlier report we had this week about how the seasonal flu had hit the district pretty hard.

KHQA's Rajah Maples spoke with Superintendent Rodger Hannel Friday afternoon.

He said the district received word of the diagnoses yesterday morning by the students' parents.

A notice went out to the rest of the parents on Thursday.

You might recall sickness started hitting Payson Seymour last week.

The district had to reschedule a volleyball game last Saturday since several team members were out sick.

A notice went out earlier this week to parents asking them to keep students home for at least 24 hours if they had a temperature.

Hannel says Payson schools have put hand sanitizers in each room to prevent illness.

There were 46 absences at the senior high on Monday, but he says several of those students have returned to school.
