MENDON, ILL. -- An investigation into actions by a coach in the Mendon-Unity school district have come back unfounded.

A parent had contacted the Division of Children and Family Services and asked that agency to look into recent conduct by Unity High School football coach Karl Asbury.

KHQA confirmed just a few minutes ago that the coach has been cleared by DCFS.

The situation involved Asbury's actions during half-time of a football game between Unity and Camp Point Central on October 3.

The parent also had asked to speak to the district's board of education tonight.

When we spoke to district superintendent Diane Robertson just a few minutes ago, she told us that the parent's request was still on the agenda, and she did not know if the parent was aware of the results of the DCFS investigation.
