Hannibal, MO -- There¹s yet another bid for Hannibal¹s Rockcliffe Mansion, and this one is the highest yet.
The Hannibal Courier-Post is reporting that a Florida couple has offered 710 thousand dollars for the tourist attraction.
James and Robin Gillette have made a 35 thousand dollar down payment and have 30 days to inspect the property at 1000 Bird Street.
The trustee of the estate says he¹ll ask a judge to approve the bid on November 2nd. The proposed closing date is January 15th.
Meanwhile, the Maplewood Missouri couple who has leased Rockcliffe since last month has until October 28th to file a new bid of its own.
The mansion remains open for daily tours.
