Police forced to break into home

QUINCY, Illinois- A 60 year old Quincy woman has been taken for a psychiatric evaluation after threatening someone with a knife.
The incident happened in the 700 block of North 5th on Monday night.
The woman went back into her apartment and locked herself in.
After attempting to negotiate with her, the police forced their way into the home and took her into custody.
The knife was also recovered.
She is facing charges for aggravated assault and barricading herself in the home.
The woman's name has not been released.
