(Ft. Madison, Ia.) The Ft. Madison Main Street Program is well on its way to becoming a successful program.
That's the word from a Main Street Iowa representative.
The representative recently visited Fort Madison and said the program is doing great.
New Director of the program Mindy Kraus says Fort Madison's Main Street section stretches from 2nd St. to 10th St. and from Avenue F to the riverfront.
She says since the program was created last summer designers have been giving businesses owners some ideas for the front of their buildings.
"There's definitely some things happening, maybe it isn't physically happening on the street just yet, but it's coming," said Kraus.
As for the future of Fort Madison's Main Street Program, next year it will go through a rating process from the state.
That will decide if it will become a National Main Street Program.
And Kraus is confident it will received that designation.
