GRIGGSVILLE, Illinois- Sometimes it's nice to sit down to a good old fashioned home cooked meal.

But with all of our busy schedules, most of us don't have the time to do the work.

In this It's Your Business report, KHQA's Stephen Johnson takes you to a restaurant that makes getting that home cooked meal as easy as sitting down and ordering off the menu.

Nothing but home cooking is what you will find at the Purple Martin Inn Restaurant and Bakery at 105 West Quincy in Griggsville.

The restaurant's owner Jack Bishop says that he wanted his business to provide a different alternative for hungry people.

Bishop says, " You can go get ready made foods anywhere . You can go and get fast food anywhere. But it's hard to find a good  home cooked restaurant. And we take an enormous amount of of pride in making sure we have a product that the people want number one and it's cost effective number two and that they're going to come back to time and time again"

Pennsylvania Hunter Keith Rockey and his brother stopped by everyday for breakfast.

Rockey says, " I'd pack this place up and take it home if I could. I tell you what it reminds me of Mayberry RFD, you know that old TV show.  So it's great. Good food, we love coming here. I'd be a regular here if I lived close by."

Jack Bishop is quick to point out that he couldn't do it with out the dedication and hard work of his staff.

Bishop says, " We have a tremendous staff. Some wonderful cooks, waitresses, dishwashers, just all the behind the scenes people that you don't see."

The restaurant also has a fully stocked bakery where you can get things like homemade pies, donuts and 22 varieties of cookies.

Bishop says, " You can come for a nice meal, enjoy it, pick up a package of cookies, a thing of cinnamon rolls and you're all set."

The restaurant is already getting ready for the holiday season.

Starting on black friday the restaurant is hosting weekly music concerts.

The first one featured a music group from Chattanooga Tennessee.
