KAHOKA, MO -- Clark County commissioners will again ask voters for their support to build a new courthouse.
You'll recall voters turned down a sales and property tax increase in November which would have built a new courthouse to replace the county's historic courthouse, built back in 1871.
It has massive structural problems and has a radon problem.
Recently during a meeting of 50 courthouse workers, the employees unanimously voted to support efforts to build a new courthouse, on the site of the current one.
Commissioners told KHQA they plan to ask voters again for their support to build a new courthouse.
A half percent county sales tax increase will appear on the February ballot.
If passed, those funds will go towards the demolition of the current structure and the construction of a new courthouse on the grounds.
