DES MOINES, IOWA (AP) -- The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting three more swine flu deaths in the state.
The department said Thursday that one of the deaths was of a child from eastern Iowa who had risk factors that increased the chance of complications from the H1N1 virus. The other fatalities were of an adult in Lee County and an adult in Hamilton County. The department said both adults also had risk factors that increased the chance of complications from the swine flu virus.
To date, Iowa has reported 36 confirmed H1N1 deaths and nearly 700 H1N1-related hospitalizations.
