QUINCY, ILL. --
For the 6th year, the Rotary Club of Quincy donated the holiday favorite to needy families in the area.

The Rotary Club teamed up with National Wildlife Turkey Federation and Neiman foods to make this giveaway possible.

On Wednesday morning the club dropped off  546  frozen turkeys to the Quincy Salvation Army.

That's a big  jump from last year's donation of 50 turkeys.

The Rotary Club also completed a successful campaign called Sportsman for Hunger  where deer meat donations were gathered for needy families.

Last year the club donated about 72 thousand quarter pound burgers of deer meet.

The club expects to meet or exceed that number this year.
