The following is a list of general highway construction and maintenance scheduled for December 21 through December 31 for all counties in MoDOT's northeast district. Weather conditions may cause postponements in the work schedule. Other maintenance work may occur on other roads throughout the area. This work will include lane closures and at times delays can be expected.
Crews will be working during daylight work hours unless otherwise indicated. Various forms of traffic control will be in place to secure the safety of the motoring public as well as the safety of highway crews.
All roadwork is posted on the traveler information map on the day it begins or at least one week in advance. Those traveling and the commuting public are encouraged to check the online map at www.modot.org daily for new work zones. Drivers are also invited to rate MoDOT work zones online at modot.org. MoDOT also offers e-update messages sent directly to your email when roadwork is scheduled. Sign up online or call MoDOT's customer service center at 1-888-275-6636.
Audrain County
Construction:
Route 54 - Pavement marking removal to be completed in Spring 2010; Install edgeline rumble strips from Mexico to Callaway County line, moving operation - one lane traffic during daylight working hours. Work should take approximately 3 days.
Maintenance:
Various routes - Dec. 21-31 sign, pothole & edgerut repairs, no closures.
Route 19 - Dec. 21-24 repairing pavement cracks, moving operation with flaggers.
Route 54 - Dec. 21-24 repairing pavement cracks, moving operation with flaggers.
Route 54 (East of Vandalia) - Dec 28-31 removing trees, no lane closures.
Clark County
Maintenance:
Route 61 - Dec. 21-24 repairing a slide by hauling dirt and rip rap south of Wayland approx. 6 miles, working in southbound driving lane-one lane traffic.
Knox County
Maintenance:
Route 6 and M - Dec. 21-23 working on bridges, one lane with signs and flaggers.
Route M - Dec. 28-31 working on bridge washouts, one lane with signs and flaggers.
Route K - Dec. 28-31 working on shoulders, moving operation with follow truck.
Lewis County
Maintenance:
Route 61 - Dec. 21-31 sealing cracks in southbound passing lane from Route 16 at Canton south to Route B at LaGrange, one lane traffic with 45 mph work zone.
Route 61 - Dec. 21-31 removing raised pavement markers, northbound passing lane will be closed from Route C at LaGrange north to Route B at Canton. Work scheduled if temperature is below 40 degrees, one lane traffic with 45 mph work zone.
Routes D and K - Dec. 21 working on signs, no lane closure.
Route K - Dec. 22 replacing culverts, road closed.
Routes E, Y and H - Dec. 23-24 patching pothole, moving operation.
Various Routes - Dec. 23-24 brine bridges, no lane closure.
Route A - Dec. 29-30 replacing culverts, possible short-term traffic interruptions.
Routes 156, D and AA - Dec. 28-31 patching potholes, moving operation.
Lincoln County
Construction:
Route 61 at Route U interchange - Project 58% complete - Project is inactive until spring.
Maintenance:
Route 61 (Cuivre Bridge at Troy) - Dec. 21-23 dozer work on bridge scours; work is off roadway with intermittent lane closures necessary as equipment moves on and off roadway; flaggers will be present.
Route KK - Dec. 21-23 ditching repairs, single-lane traffic with flaggers.
Route C (Cuivre River Bridge @ Moscow Mills) - Dec. 28-30 dozer work on bridge scours, intermittent one-lane traffic with flaggers.
Various routes - Dec. 28-30 sign work, shoulder work with no closures.

Monroe County
Construction:
Route 24 - To be scheduled, waiting on equipment to complete installation of edgeline rumble strips from Monroe City to Madison, approx. 24 miles, moving operation - one lane traffic during daylight working hours. Work should take approximately 3 days.
Maintenance:
Routes 154 & 107 - Dec. 21-24 placing rock on shoulder, moving operation no closures.
Various routes - Dec. 21-31 sign repairs & brush cutting, no closures.
Various routes Dec 28-31 working on approaches, no closures.
Montgomery County
Maintenance:
Routes A & AA - Dec. 21-24 culvert pipe replacements & ditch work, shoulder work, no closures expected.
I-70 WB (mm 175.5 & 163.4) - Dec. 21 asphalt repair to both driving and passing lanes; one lane traffic at all times with message boards.
I-70 (Mineola EB Rest Area) - Dec. 22-31 concrete replacement in parking area, EB rest area will remain open to the public and traffic should not be impacted.
Routes N, YY & J - Dec. 28-31ditching & backhoe work, short term lane closures with flaggers.
Pike County
Maintenance:
Route 79 CLOSED - just south of Ashburn due to unstable road conditions from slide; the road is closed from Route TT to Route B on 79, and MoDOT is unsure when it is expected to open.
Business Route 61 (Bowling Green) - Dec. 21-24 ditching work, shoulder & driveway repairs, shoulder work with no closures.
Route 79 (North of Clarksville) - Dec. 21-24 ditching work and shoulder repair, all work is on shoulder with possible intermittent one-lane traffic with flaggers.
Various routes - Dec. 28-30 sign work, shoulder work with no closures.
Ralls County
Maintenance:
Route 19 - Dec. 21-24 working on erosion control under bridges, possible short-term traffic interruptions.
Route 79 - Dec. 21-24 cutting brush, moving operation.
Route 19 - Dec. 28-31 working on erosion control under bridges, possible short-term traffic interruptions.
Routes F and P - Dec. 28-31 cutting brush, moving operation.
Scotland County
Maintenance:
Route 15 - Dec. 21-24 working on gutter drains in Memphis, moving operation.
Various Routes - Dec. 19-31 patching potholes, moving operation.
Shelby County
Construction:
Route 36 - Project Status: Overall Project 75% complete - Shelby County area - 85% complete - Crews have suspended work due to frozen subgrade; major activity is shoulder paving as weather and ground conditions allow. County Road 486 is open, however crossover is still closed; County Road 491 remains closed. The westbound on/off ramps at Routes 36/15 at Shelbina remain closed off while the contractor builds and paves a portion of the new highway, rebuilding part of the ramps, and tie it in to the existing highway. Motorists driving west will be directed to take the first Shelbina exit to access Route 15 north and south. Detours clearly signed. Marion County area - 90% complete - Crews have suspended work due to frozen subgrade; major activity is shoulder paving as weather and ground conditions allow. Traffic will be diverted to the eastbound lanes near Monroe City. Speed Limit at various locations in this area are 35 mph and 45 mph where posted. Macon/Shelby County - 73% complete - The contractor plans to open the new lanes between Macon and Clarence today. The contractor also continues to move forward with construction from Clarence to Shelbina as well. The concrete mainline paving is complete to Lentner and will likely not resume until spring. The deck of the Route 36 Bridge over Route FF has been placed and the bridge is nearing completion. All major grading on this section is complete.
Maintenance:
Route M - Dec. 21-22 culvert replacements and shoulder work, no lane closure.
Route N - Dec. 23-24 shoulder work, no lane closure.
Route J - Dec. 28 shoulder work, no lane closure.
Route W - Dec. 29-31 shoulder and ditch work, no lane closure.
Warren County
Construction:
Interstate 70 - In progress, installing edgeline rumble strips from St. Charles to Montgomery County line, moving operation - one lane traffic during daylight working hours. Work should take approximately 5 days.
Maintenance:
I-70 ramps @ Wright City - Dec. 21-24 blading aggregate shoulders, mostly shoulder work with one lane traffic & flaggers.
Routes U & B - Dec. 21-24 repairing edgeruts & driveways, moving operation with no closures.
Routes B & EE - Dec. 21-24 tree removal, short-term lane closures with flaggers.
