TENNESSEE, ILL. -- The following is a press release from the McDonough County Sheriff's Office:
McDonough County Sheriff Rick Van Brooker reports that the McDonough County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police Department of Criminal Investigation are investigating an assault on an eighty five year old female in rural Tennessee.
A family member discovered the victim at her residence located southwest of Tennessee next to Highway 336 on December 26th at 8:00 a.m. Colchester Rescue and McDonough District Hospital Ambulance responded to the scene and she was transported to McDonough District Hospital.
Investigators with the Sheriff's Office are asking for information from the public. The assault is believed to have happened between 5:00 p.m. on Christmas day and 7:30 a.m. December 26th. The attacker may have been scratched or have bruises to either hand.
