KEOKUK, IA -- Donations are being received for emergency aid to the people of Haiti and will be hand delivered to the Good Samaritan Hospital of La Romana on January 23 and February 8.
A mission team from First Baptist Church, of Keokuk will be traveling to La Romana, Dominican Republic, where they will be bringing assistance to the Good Samaritan Hospital.
This hospital will be providing medical assistance and relief aid to the Haitian people.
Cash donations may be made to “Good Samaritan Hospital” or medical items can be dropped off at the H.R. office of Keokuk Area Hospital by January 22 or February 7.
Medical supplies needed include:
- Antibiotic ointments
- Betadine, sutures
- dressings, gauze
Health kits needed include:
- wash cloths
- soap
- toothpaste
- toothbrush
- bandages
- hygiene products
Prescription medications may also be donated. The amount of medical supplies taken will be limited to the luggage of the team.
The Good Samaritan Hospital staff and the Mission Teams are being considered for their part in the relief effort in Haiti.
They are sending 10 people to Port-au-Prince on the 19th and will be working for at least 1 week.
Your donation will help them to re-stock medical needed medical supplies.
