A 15 hour investigation by the  Pike County Illinois Sheriff's department, that crossed state lines, led to the arrest of a Barry man late Thursday night.

The incident started around 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning when a stolen vehicle was found abandoned in Barry.

It eventually led to two more stolen vehicles including one from Missouri.

The Hannibal police department was called and located one of the vehicles from Barry in Hannibal.

During the investigation 19 year old John Resor of Barry was located inside of a stolen PT Cruiser from Missouri.

He tried to run away from deputies but was eventually captured.

Resor, who is on parole,  is in the Pike County jail charged with 2 counts of  possessing a stolen vehicile and driving while revoked.

Items taken from the vehicles may have been used in other crimes, so there may be other charges in this case.
