ADAMS COUNTY, IL -- Plans to build a new wind farm in the Northeast part of Adams County are unfolding as we speak.

Two groups called Global Winds Harvest and Acciona plan to build 100 wind turbines between Clayton and Golden.

The project is expected to employ more than 200 construction workers to help build the project and create about 15 permanent positions.

KHQA's Rajah Maples spoke with Pete Pohlman with the Great River Economic Development Foundation Monday afternoon.

He said each of those wind turbines is expected to bring in about $10,000 in county taxes.

Those dollars would benefit the Camp Point Central School district.

Construction on the new wind turbine project is expected to start later this year.
