QUINCY, ILL. -- Science comes in many fashions, and kids at St. James Lutheran School in Quincy learned science can be fun.

As part of Lutheran Schools Week, students and staff at St. James celebrated science day Thursday with an egg drop contest.

Every student from kindergarten to eighth grade had the chance to take part.

The assignment -- build a compartment that would protect an egg from being dropped from above.

There were specifications.

Students couldn't build anything bigger than a six by six compartments.

Some of the kids got creative using everything from packing peanuts to peanut butter.
