QUINCY, ILL. -- Mayor John Spring presented Amby Burfoot and Jackie Joyner-Kersee with keys to the city Friday evening.

Joyner-Kersee, six-time Olympic gold medalist and St. Louis native, will lead Saturday morning's Bridge the Gap to Health Race Expo.

She'll also hand out the finisher medals.

Burfoot works as editor at large for Runners World Magazine. He's also a previous Boston Marathon winner.

This is the 10th year for Bridge the Gap. The event benefits Quincy Catholic Charities' MedAssist Program, which helps patients who can't afford their medications. More than $7 million has been raised since the event started.
