QUINCY, ILL. -- Starting July 1, 2010 the IRS will be administrating a 10 percent excise tax on indoor tanning beds.

So now consumers will be charged ten percent tax when the buy a tanning package.

According to CBS news, 30 million people use tanning beds each year.

These beds emit both UVB and UVA rays, UVA can be 12 times stronger then the sun.

We spoke with Ron King, owner of Tanning Unlimited in Quincy, he said it's not something they are happy about but something they have to do.

Every quarter King will have to pay that tax to the government along with their 720 form.

Along with the tanning beds King also offers a tax free sunless tanning service.

VeraSpa is a sunless tanning mist booth that sprays on a tan that can last up to 6 days.
