SHELBY COUNTY, MO. -- A registered sex offender still is on the loose. Police are looking for 41-year-old Patrick J McIntire.

The Shelby County Sheriff says McIntire should be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities say the victim is his former girlfriend, and that she was shot in the eye with a handgun. She was taken to a Macon hospital and was last listed in serious condition.

Officers are stationed at every entrance to the hospital in case McIntire shows up there.

The crime happened around 11:30 a.m. Friday morning just north of Bethel on Highway 15.

Police say he could be driving a white SUV.

Mcintire is six feet tall and weighs 210 pounds. He's a registered sex offender in the State of Illinois. If you have information, you're asked to call the Shelby County Sheriff's Department or your local law enforcement office.
