QUINCY, ILL. -- TAKE TWO:

The KHQA newsroom decided to take another swing at baking in the van today!

Yesterday, Rajah Maples and Landon Mitchell tasted our van cookies and said that they were "alright."

Today, we are attempting cinnamon rolls in the van.

9:00 a.m.

Tegan Orpet placed the tray of pre-made cinnamon rolls in the van with our handy thermometer. Things are beginning to heat up!

11:00 a.m.

We checked our baked goods, but not much seems to be changing. They are definitely not rising or spreading out.

2:00 p.m.

Finally they are starting to look like the cinnamon is melting somewhat.

DAY ONE:

Ever heard the expression, "Hot enough to fry an egg on the hood of your car?"

Well, the KHQA newsroom is conducting an experiment Tuesday that involves the van and a tray of cookies. Here's a timeline of the events:

8:30 a.m.

Tegan Orpet placed a 120 degree thermometer and a tray of uncooked pre-made chocolate chip cookies on the dashboard of the news van.

10:00 a.m.

We noticed that the thermometer was approaching it's max temperature of 120 degrees and the cookies had begun to spread out and melt.

11:30 a.m.

Brooke Hasch took a photo and noted that the cookies are now all spread out and the thermometer is maxed out.

Cookies seem to be cooking. See new photo.

We'll continue to monitor the experiment throughout the day, so check back for updates and we'll try not to eat the evidence!
