CLARK COUNTY, MISSOURI -- The first human case of the West Nile Virus has been reported in the Tri States.

A person from Clark County, Missouri was infected with the virus.

West Nile first showed up in Missouri in 2002.

Since then, about 450 have contracted the illness and 24 have died.

But the number of cases have dropped sharply in recent years.

In 2002, Missouri had 168 confirmed cases.

Last year, there were five.
