Body of missing Perry man found in ravine

Man went missing on Wednesday

PIKE COUNTY, ILL. -- On Thursday the Pike County Sheriff's Department recovered the body of a missing Perry, Ill. man.

Keith Whitham had gone missing on Wednesday.

Friends and family reported him missing that night around  10.30 p.m.

The first search ended Thursday morning around  3:00 a.m. with no success.

A second search started later that morning and continued through the day on Thursday.

Law enforcement, fire fighters, friends and family searched from New Salem to Valley City and Interstate 72 to north of Perry.

Then around 3:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon the body of Keith Whitham was found.

It appears that he was driving an ATV through a harvested field when the machine fell into a 20 foot ravine.

The investigation into his death is ongoing.
