QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy Medical Group is trying to get the community moving.

Gold Medal Moves kicked off Saturday at Quincy University.

It's a six week program lead by eight time Olympic gold medalist Jackie Joyner-Kersee, that encourages you to get out and chose your move.

People signed up and weighed in.

They got a passport to track weightloss and physical activities

Participants will be rewarded with a bronze medal for 30 minutes of activity three days a week, a silver medal for four days and a gold medal for exercising five days a week.

"We just want to get people out here and get people moving for three days to get a reward and hopefully start something different and make some changes in their lives," said QMG's Carrie Kimber.

"It's really a challenge within yourself, challenging yourself to first of all, to want to get up and move, and try to do something about changing your behavior and changing your lifestyle. This is a lifestyle movement," said Jackie Joyner-Kersee.

The Gold Medal Moves program ends in February.

There will be a community weight loss goal set.

QMG plans to announce what it is early next week.
