QUINCY, ILL. -- Renewable energy projects are moving forward in Adams and Brown Counties.

Adams Co-op is developing a second wind turbine in Brown County.

Prairie Power also will test a process where it adds biomass fuel, wood and grass to its coal-fueled power plant in Pearl.

The Hydro-Generation project is also moving forward.

The Prairie Mills Wind Farm in northeast Adams County is moving forward, as well.

"The beautiful thing about a windfarm is that it's a $300 million project and two things come from that 300 million dollars when it's rolled over 3 or 4 times turns into some very significant dollars," said Jim Mentesti.

The project will begin construction later this year or early 2012.
