KAHOKA, MO. -- UPDATED: March 24 at 4:41 p.m.

You could own a piece of the old Clark County Courthouse.

The historic structure now is a pile of bricks.  But the contractor has salvaged architectural elements, like this cupola that sat on top of the courthouse, and is offering them for auction.

A date for that sale hasn't been set.

There are plans to break ground on Clark County's new courthouse in July.  The building should be finished sometime in January of 2013.

KHQA will continue to cover this story, so check this story later.

UPDATED: February 23 at 11:41 a.m.

Clark Co. Commissioner Jerry Neyens called KHQA to tell us that the crane being used in demolition Wednesday was not powerful enough to lift the dome.

At this time, the dome removal will be put on hold until a different crane can be brought in.

Neyens also stated that weather could delay the arrival and use of a crane this week.

On a separate note, Neyens says that the demolition crew is salvaging pieces from the Clark County courthouse and they will be putting the dome up for sale.

Many people in the Tri-States will be eager to own a piece of history, so KHQA will be sure to announce the details when we get them.

We will bring you more details about the removal of the dome, so check this story later and join the conversation on Facebook!
