Tongue piercing to blame for SUV crash

Hill was driving home from the Quincy Mall when his Dodge Durango ran through two neighboring yards and a "No Outlet" sign before slamming into the front of the home.

QUINCY, ILL. -- Quincy police blame a tongue piercing for the cause of a car accident Monday night.

Jared Hill, 27, was driving home from the Quincy Mall after having had his tongue pierced.

Sometime during the drive, Hill fainted causing his Dodge Durango to run through two neighboring yards and a "No Outlet" sign before slamming into the front of a home at 1230 N. 25th Street.

One person was home at the time but was not injured.

The accident occurred sometime around 6:15 p.m.

Hill was taken to Blessing Hospital with injuries.

Police ticketed Hill with improper driving.
