QUINCY, ILL. -- Bud Niekamp wants to keep his seat on the Quincy School board, and his new lawyer has now made it official. Jesse Gilsdorf filed an appeal with the 4th District Appellate Court in the quo warranto decision against Quincy School Board President "Bud" Niekamp in his battle for his school board seat.

Niekamp is appealing a ruling that declared his school board seat vacant because he was also a sitting Adams County Board member at the time he was elected to the school board. That ruling has been stayed while the case is appealed.

Jack Inghram representing the three plaintiffs, has until April fourth to file a brief in the case.

Niekamp is running for a different school board seat in the upcoming April elections.
