FT. MADISON, IOWA -- One man was taken to the hospital after a fire in Fort Madison Monday morning.

Crews were called to an apartment at 1222 Avenue "G" around 9:30 a.m. They battled the fire for more than three hours.

One person was inside the home at the time. He is being treated for minor burns. 

The apartment suffered about $30,000 in damages. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
