Prison inmate assault in Ft. Madison

FT. MADISON -- The Iowa State Penitentiary maximum security prison in Fort Madison was on lockdown Monday after an inmate assault.

According to the Keokuk Daily Gate City, an inmate struck another inmate in the head in the Iowa Prison Industries Building.

The Iowa Department of Corrections says it appears to be an isolated incident.
