William Marler arrested for arson and theft

QUINCY, ILL. -- UPDATE: DEC 12 AT 8:30PM

Todd Marler, the former manager of the Spring Lake County Club pled guilty to theft and arson Monday.

He is accused of setting a fire in March that caused more than 100 thousand dollars in damage.

He set the fire to cover up the theft of more than 130 thousand dollars from the country club.

Marler, who currently lives in Georgia faces up to 7 years in prison.

His sentencing date is scheduled for Feb. 8th of next year.

The man accused of aggravated arson at the Spring Lake Country Club entered a plea of not guilty.

William Marler is accused of theft over a $10,000 and starting a fire in the office at the club. Marler is the former General Manager at Spring Lake. His jury trial will be on August 6th.

The former manager of the Spring Lake Country Club in Quincy, Ill., has been arrested for aggravated arson and theft over $10,000.

Adams County Sheriff's deputies arrested William T. Marler on a traffic stop after he left his residence Tuesday morning.

The Sheriff's Department conducted a six month long investigation in an arson and theft case at Spring Lake Country Club.

Marler was lodged in the Adams County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
